Prosthetic Makeup and Special Effects are an important part of Scandal, the special effects crew do their best to make the scenes look as real as possible. Most of these special effects are done by using Green / Blue screens, visual and special effects prosthetic make-up.

Thomas Floutz, Vncent Van Dyke (VincentVan Dyke Effects Studio), Jennifer Aspinall, Megan Areford and Georgia Allen are the key prosthetic make-up artists.

Special effects make-up is used are used on characters who have been injured or killed on Scandal; for example scars or head injuries.
