Alonzo "Lonnie" Mencken was the special prosecutor for the investigation of the hijacking of Air Force Two.
About[]
The character of Lonnie Mencken was a recurring character in the seventh season of Scandal, portrayed by Michael O'Neill.
History[]
Cyrus hired Lonnie to be the prosecutor for the investigation of the hijacking of Air Force Two and paid him with the Cézanne painting that Fenton Glackland gave him so that there wouldn't be a money trail. They then set Charlie up by putting the virus in his laptop and framed him for the assassination attempt on the Vice President.
Based on Cyrus' recommendation, Lonnie was appointed as the special prosecutor for the investigation of the hijacking of Air Force Two by the Deputy Attorney General of the United States. After prosecuting Charlie, Lonnie offered him a deal to sign the confession stating that he was hired by Mellie Grant to hack the plane but Charlie refused.
Lonnie agreed to work with Cyrus in impeaching Mellie because he lost his son during a mass-shooting at a mall and holds President Grant's 'love of guns' against her. When Charlie finally signed the confession, he subpoenaed President Mellie Grant.
In Over A Cliff he promised Olivia a senate hearing in trade for a gun control policy. He then pulled out a gun and committed suicide.
