Joelle Carter is an American actress who portrayed Vanessa Moss in season five of Scandal.


She has been featured on many movies, most notably the opening scene in American Pie 2. She also has an extensive resume of television bit parts, appearing on shows and in films including High Fidelity, Inconceivable, and Cold Storage. From 2010 to 2015, she played Ava Crowder in the television series Justified on FX. She also appeared in Kevin Greutert's 2014 horror-thriller film Jessabelle.

Carter has starred in numerous television projects, including the controversial series, Wonderland (2000), created by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights (2004)). Furthermore, she is very proud of the documentary, Altered by Elvis (2006), which she co-produced. Carter also co-produced and starred in the short, A Girl and a Gun (2008), which won Best Original Short at the 2008 Washougal International Film Festival.
