Carolina Florez is General Benicio Florez's wife. She faked a kidnapping with her and two of her children to get away from her abusive husband.
When Abby Whelan finds her, she discovers that Carolina had run away with the children while in the U.S., the perfect place to get away. Abby checks her and the children into a hotel to hide them from General Florez; but Olivia finds out and has them brought to the office (Olivia Pope & Associates). When Abby comes in the next morning she is shocked to see them there.
Later, after Abby convinces Olivia they need to help her, Carolina is helped by Olivia Pope and her team. They try to sneak away while the Benicio is speaking; but they don't get away in time. She tells her husband, the General, that she is going to leave him. But he won't her take the kids with her. Olivia to the rescue... she spouts out some legal mumbo jumbo and the general caves and lets Carolina take her children with her.
